Policy for the Protection of Personal Information


TAKARA BELMONT CORPORATION (the “Company”) adopts the Policy for the Protection of Personal Information as follows for the handling of the personal information of customers and others held by the Company for promoting its business. The Company will use such personal information as a useful management resource in compliance with the policy and endeavor to prevent the infringement of any right or interest in the data subject as identified from such personal information.

2. purpose of Use for Personal Information of Customers and Others.

The Company will use the personal information of the customers and others in the manufacture and sales of products for hairdressing, beauty, aesthetic treatment, and nail treatment, as well as medical products, the provision of the services therefor, the designing and construction of salons, shops, and clinics, and all other business activities accessory to any one of the foregoing to the extent of the following purposes in addition to the extent as prescribed under the applicable law:

Provision of business information (including the information of festivals and events (including a variety of campaigns), lectures, seminars, and others) for the products and services provided by the Company (including those for designing and construction of shops, and the same shall apply hereinafter)
  2. Provision of information for after-sales services (including all paid maintenance services) rendered to the products and services provided by the Company
  3. Support and brokerage in a variety of procedures accessory to the products and services provided by the Company (e.g., leases and financing)
  4. A variety of questionnaire surveys conducted for the planning or development of the products and services provided by the Company or for the enhancement of the customer satisfaction therefor
  5. Planning and development of the products and services provided by the Company (including the development using the machine learning)
  6. Shipment of premiums provided in the course of a variety of campaigns by the Company
  7. Transmission of e-mail magazines
  8. Responses to a variety of consultations, queries, and requests for information from customers (for the sake of such responses, the Company may allow the TAKARA BELMONT group entities located in Japan (excluding the Company) (see 5. “TAKARA BELMONT Group Entities Located in Japan” below) or its designated sales agents or affiliates to handle the address, names, telephone numbers, queries, and other information with respect to the customers to the extent deemed by the Company appropriate to inquire or contact any one of the foregoing)
  9. Purchasing of customers for the purpose of providing advertisements and other business information that match the interests of customers regarding products and services handled by the Company, planning and development of such products and services, and improving customer satisfaction Analysis of history, website browsing history and other behavioral history

  2. Purposes of Common Use.
    1. Provision of all-round information on the products and services provided by each TAKARA BELMONT group entity located in Japan
    2. Provision of the information on festivals and events (including a variety of campaigns), lectures, seminars, and others for the products and services provided by each TAKARA BELMONT group entity located in Japan
    3. A variety of questionnaire surveys conducted for the planning or development of the products and services provided by each TAKARA BELMONT group entity located in Japan or for the enhancement of the customer satisfaction therefor
    4. Planning and development of the products and services provided by each TAKARA BELMONT group entity located in Japan (including the development using the machine learning)
    5. For the purpose of providing advertisements and other business information that match the interests of customers regarding products and services handled by domestic companies TAKARA BELMONT Group, and for the purpose of planning and development of such products and services, or improving customer satisfaction. , customer purchase history, website browsing history and other behavioral analysis
    6. If any personal information is to be commonly used for any purpose other than the foregoing, the Company will notify the data subjects of the matters in advance as required under the applicable law at the time of acquisition.

6. Third-Party Provision.

Unless otherwise prescribed under the applicable law, the Company will not provide any third party with the personal information of any customer without first obtaining the consent of such customer.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Company may provide its service suppliers with the personal information of any customer to the extent necessary for attaining the purposes of use. In such event, the Company shall perform the necessary and proper supervision over such service suppliers.

7. Measures Implemented for Safety Control of Personal Information.

The Company will implement the following measures, as well as all other proper measures, for the safety control of the personal information:

  1. Adoption and application of the Personal Information Control Rules, providing for the matters to be complied with, the responsible manager and personnel, their duties, and others in connection with the acquisition, use, storage, provision, deletion, disposal, and others of the personal information
  2. Organization of the procedures for deploying the personal-information control manager in each organization and clarifying the personnel engaged in the duties handling the personal information, and of the reporting system to the manager upon discovery of any fact or likelihood of breach of the law or rules
  3. Timely and proper guidance relevant to handling of the personal information
  4. Measures to prevent any theft, loss, or others of any information device, electronic medium, document or whatsoever handling the personal data
  5. Restriction of the scope of the personnel, the scope of the handling personal information database and others by means of access control
  6. Adoption of a system to protect the information system handling the personal data against any unauthorized access from the outside

8. Understanding the External Environment

Part of the retained personal data is managed by using a cloud service provided by a third party in a foreign country as follows.

We have taken the security control measures described in 7 above after understanding the systems regarding the protection of personal information in the above foreign countries.

8. Procedures for Claiming Disclosure of Personal Information.

If any customer wishes to request for the disclosure, correction, or other action with respect to his/her own personal information as held by the Company, such request shall be addressed to the relevant point of contact. (See 10. “Point of Contact for Queries” below.)

9. Personal-Information Control Manager
