Upcycling Waste Leather Project Launched
We have launched a project called "Re:bonis" at our own factory to upcycle waste leather* generated during the manufacturing process of professional chairs and create new value. This is an initiative toward a recycling-oriented society that considers the future of the global environment.
We have been involved in activities to convey the appeal of manufacturing, including the production of promotional giveaways (such as name holders for our Group employees and event giveaways) and co-creation activities with educational institutions and local communities.

Installation of Wastewater Treatment Equipment
Our cosmetics factory in Shiga Prefecture introduced a wastewater treatment method using microorganisms, and expanded its facilities in 2014. The sludge generated from the wastewater treatment process is properly manifest-managed as industrial waste, and is recycled by industrial waste treatment companies into recycled raw materials for cement and roadbed materials. Consequently, this minimizes waste and contributes in the effort to transform it into a circulatory resource.
