Announcement on the completion of investigation into server unauthorized access incident
July 5, 2024
This is to announce that the investigation we had been conducting regarding the fact that the server we use to operate our global website was illegally accessed and phishing emails were sent, which we announced on April 17, 2024 ("Notice and Apology Regarding Possible Leakage of Personal Information Due to Unauthorized Server Access"), has been completed.
This incident occurred on April 5, 2024, and as of April 17, 2024, when we notified you of the facts, we had not yet completed the confirmation that customer email addresses managed on the server were not being used to send emails, and the risk of personal information leakage could not be eliminated. However, as a result of our investigation, we have confirmed that the destination of the emails was not a customer email addresses stored on the server, and that the method used to send phishing emails did not access personal information on the server.
In addition, we have not received any reports of secondary damage, such as the unauthorized use of personal information, resulting from this incident.
We take very seriously the incident in which our website was used to send phishing emails, and will also make every effort to strengthen our website operations.
<Measures to prevent recurrence>
