~ October 3rd (Monday) to October 14th (Friday), 2022 Weekdays only / Free admission ~

TAKARA BELMONT Co. Rise into beauty, Walk into life. Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City Chuo (Hidetaka Yoshikawa, Representative Director, Chairman and President) will be holding the ``Exhibition of Original Japanese Barber Shops'' on October 8th, which will convey the charm of ``barbershops'', which are a culture that Japan is proud of, preserving their good old days. To coincide with the Hair Anniversary (*1), it will be held on weekdays only from October 3rd (Monday) to October 14th (Friday) at TB-SQUARE Tokyo 1F in Yoyogi, Tokyo.

Our company was founded in 1921. We started manufacturing and selling barber chairs in 1931, and with the support of barbers, we celebrated our 100th anniversary last year. Barbershops, affectionately known as ``town barbers,'' were once found in every town and protected people's lives, but today, due to declining birthrates, an aging population, a declining population, and a lack of successors, barbershops have become less popular. The number of salons and barbers are both decreasing. Therefore, an exhibition will be held to rediscover the charm of barbershops, which were not only used to style hair, but also were closely connected to people's lives and were a place for interaction between local people, through the scenery of a ``town barbershop'' with a Showa-era atmosphere. We planned.
The works on display are ``Tokaido Naka Barber Shop Zomeki'' and ``Tokoya Road,'' a collection of photos taken by photographer Tomohiko Hayashi as he traveled throughout Japan, taking pictures of unique and nostalgic ``barbershops.'' We will exhibit selected works from (Fujinsha). Our barber chairs and barber equipment will also appear as subjects in the exhibited works.

For barbers, the barber chair is both a partner and a stage on which to show off their refined skills. A total of 14 pieces of work that will let you feel the charm of a barbershop, with photos of the space that reveals the personality of the shopkeeper who runs the business, the presence of customers, and even the voices of casual everyday conversations. Exhibition. During the period (weekdays only), anyone can view it for free. In addition, as a project unique to this exhibition, we will be holding an Instagram live with photographer Tomohiko Hayashi as a guest from 20:00 on October 3 (Monday) on the first day of the photo exhibition. We will prepare a presentation and talk about the charm of barbershops.
TAKARA BELMONT will continue to develop its business to ``make beautiful lives come true'' through manufacturing and working together with everyone in the barber industry.
